Route Options:
- Easy Route:
Cable Car Station (Lower) → (Cable Car) → Cable Car Station (Upper) → (Walk) → Hengshan Temple Complex → (Walk) → Tianfeng Peak
Note: Taking the cable car saves you 2/3 of the route. - Classic Route:
Entrance Ticket Booth → (Shuttle Bus) → Trailhead → (Walk) → Hengshan Temple Complex → (Walk) → Tianfeng Peak
Note: The 6km winding road from the entrance to the trailhead has limited views. - Advanced Route:
Entrance Ticket Booth → (Walk) → Trailhead → (Walk) → Hengshan Temple Complex → (Walk) → Palace → (Walk) → Tianfeng Peak
Note: Full hiking route up the mountain, with an additional 2.5 to 3 hours for exploring.

- Hengshan Entrance Ticket:
Adults: 45 RMB
Under 18: 23 RMB
Over 60: Free- Xuankong Temple Ticket:
Adults: 15 RMB (Viewing); 100 RMB (Full Access)
Under 18: 8 RMB (Viewing); 50 RMB (Full Access)
Under 60: Free
- Xuankong Temple Ticket:
- Cable Car: 70 RMB one-way, free for children under 1.2 meters; last ride at 18:00.
- Shuttle Bus: 13 RMB one-way, covering the 6.1km route from the ticket booth to the trailhead (tickets available onsite).
Transportation Options:
- Datong Station ↔️ Hengshan:
- Take a taxi to Datong East Bus Station for 13 RMB → Bus to Xuankong Temple for 25 RMB → Shuttle Bus to Hengshan Entrance for 7 RMB.
- Note: Buses operate from 6:30 to 18:00.
- Datong South Station ↔️ Hengshan:
- Board Bus 901 (flag it down for a stop) for 15 RMB to Hunyuan County Bus Station → Take a taxi to Hengshan Entrance for 10 RMB.
- Note: The 901 route is about a 1.5-hour journey.
- Extra Info: Bus 901 now extends to Hengshan and Xuankong Temple, currently in trial operation.
- Full Fare: 25 RMB to Xuankong Temple, 30 RMB to Hengshan.
