Tidy up late at night: Smooth routes and time for Sanqingshan!
  1. Cable car selection
There are two cableways for ascending Sanqingshan. One is the Jinsha Cableway, located in the eastern part of Sanqingshan! It’s more convenient.
The other is the Waishuangxi Cableway, located in the southern part, which is relatively far.
I went up the mountain via the Jinsha Cableway. Most people will choose the Jinsha Cableway as it is simple and convenient. Cableway business hours:
    7:00 – 17:30 on holidays and weekends.
    8:00 – 17:30 on non-holidays and weekends.
  2. Three climbing routes
    A. Small loop, takes 2 hours.
Take the Jinsha Cableway up – Giant Python Emerges from the Mountain – Penguins Offering Peaches – Goddess of the East – Return to the Jinsha Cableway.
Most of the small loop consists of flat plank roads, suitable for children and the elderly to walk on (relatively easy).
    B. Medium loop, takes 5 hours.
After completing the small loop (take the Jinsha Cableway up – Giant Python Emerges from the Mountain – Penguins Offering Peaches – Goddess of the East), continue to walk through – Rhododendron Valley – Yutai – Maiden’s Open Breast – One-Line Sky – Rishen Mountain Villa – Fairy’s Shoes Drying – Yu Huangding – Fox Gnawing Chicken – Giant Python Viewing Platform – Giant Python Emerges from the Mountain – Return to the Jinsha Cableway. (Somewhat challenging).
    C. Large loop, takes 7 hours.
After finishing the medium loop, continue to walk through – Rhododendron Valley – Yutai – Maiden’s Open Breast – One-Line Sky – Rishen Mountain Villa – West Coast Plank Road – Yulsong Forest – Sunshine Coast High-altitude Plank Road – Yu Huangding – Fox Gnawing Chicken – Giant Python Viewing Platform – Giant Python Emerges from the Mountain – Return to the Jinsha Cableway.
Recommended for those with good physical strength.
  3. Recommended souvenirs and local products of Sanqingshan
    A magic fruit.
Kudzu powder pastry (pure kudzu powder with zero additives). The freshly made kudzu powder pastry (fragrant but not greasy) is a must-have souvenir.
  4. Recommended scenic spots
    A. Yujing Peak
The highest peak of Sanqingshan. It is the best viewing spot for watching the sunrise. You can also pitch a tent and camp on the summit.
    B. Yu Huangding
Standing on the viewing platform, as the clouds on all sides disperse, a rainbow suddenly appears in front of you. The scene is extremely spectacular.
    C. Sanqing Palace
Here you can learn about Taoist culture. It is an open-air museum, and the scenery is also extremely stunning. It’s super photogenic.
    D. West Coast Scenic Area
Here are all flat roads. Walking on the plank road along the cliff is very interesting. You can enjoy the sunset glow and extremely beautiful scenery while walking.
    E. Nanqingyuan Scenic Area
Here is the most extraordinary scenic area of Sanqingshan. The Giant Python Emerges from the Mountain and the Goddess of the East are beyond your imagination.
  5. Suggestions for eating and accommodation
    A. There are also hotels and guesthouses above the cableway. The prices range from 500 to 1500 yuan. Rishen Mountain Villa and Goddess Guesthouse. The scenery on the mountain is relatively beautiful.
    B. Below the cableway, about a 10-minute walk away, there are many homestays. The prices range from 200 to 400 yuan.
    C. It is really recommended to eat below the cableway. Just find a farmhouse dish to enjoy. The prices are also relatively reasonable!
It’s a bit expensive on the mountain. Mineral water costs 5 yuan, instant noodles cost 15 yuan, and grilled sausages cost 15 yuan. Boxed lunches cost between 30 and 50 yuan. It is recommended to bring some snacks, bread, and fruits up.
  6. Come to Sanqingshan at off-peak times to avoid traffic jams and queues!
It is not recommended to climb the mountain on rainy days as it is relatively dangerous and the mountain road is slippery.
