- Basic Overview
Tianzhu Mountain is a mountainous area in the west of Qianshan City, Anqing City, Anhui Province. It is also known as Qianshan Mountain, Wan Mountain, Wengong Mountain (from which Anhui Province’s abbreviation “Wan” comes), Wansui Mountain, Wanshan Mountain, etc.
Tianzhu Mountain is located on the magical 30-degree north latitude and has many wonderful natural landscapes, like an “extremely beautiful painting”.
Tianzhu Mountain is majestic in its peaks. The main peak, Tianzhu Peak, is 1,489 meters above sea level. Bai Juyi praised it by saying, “Tianzhu’s one peak holds up the sun and moon, and the cave gate with thousands of feet locks the clouds and thunder.” Around the main peak, there are more than 50 peaks above 1,000 meters, forming a spectacular peak sea with “one peak rising abruptly surrounded by mountains and two rivers sandwiching the peaks”.
Tianzhu Mountain is strange in its rocks. The exposed metamorphic rocks are known as “the revealer of the earth”. The built geological park museum allows you to appreciate the geological history of the vicissitudes of life. The unique granite landform presents various shapes. Among them, the 450-meter-long Mysterious Valley has the largest scale and the most peculiar structure and is known as “the first secret mansion of granite caves in China”.
Peaks competing in beauty
The peaks of Tianzhu Mountain are a sight to behold, with their beauty and grandeur.
Tianzhu Mountain is spiritual in its waters. Tianzhu Mountain is located between the Qian River and the Wan River, with beautiful lakes and mountains, clear waters and blue skies. The core scenic area’s alpine artificial lake, Lian Dan Lake, is inlaid among the peaks like a bright pearl.
Tianzhu Mountain is beautiful in its forests. Tianzhu Mountain has diverse organisms and rich vegetation. The forest coverage rate reaches 97%. The annual average temperature is 16.2℃. It is a natural oxygen bar in China, one of the first batch of national forest-based health and wellness bases, and an employee recuperation base in Anhui Province.
Tianzhu Peak:
Tianzhu Peak stands towering in the air, supporting the sky with one pillar. It is all made of stone bones, craggy and extremely unique, magnificent and beautiful. Like a pillar, a cone, a torch, a sword, a tower, or a wonderful writing brush. There is a praise that says, “After returning from the Five Sacred Mountains, one doesn’t need to look at other mountains. After returning from Mount Huangshan, one doesn’t need to look at other peaks. After returning from Tianzhu Mountain, one doesn’t need to look at other peaks!” When the great poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty passed by the Yangtze River surface in Susong, he saw the majestic and beautiful Tianzhu Peak and sang loudly: “Strange peaks give birth to strange clouds, beautiful trees contain elegant aura. The clear Wengong Mountain is extremely pleasing to the eye…”

Tianzhu’s one peak holds up the sun and moon
Flying Peak:
Flying Peak is at the westernmost end of the “Dragon Roaring and Tiger Howling Cliff”. One peak stands independently into the clouds. The boulder on the peak is like a cover. The whole peak is made of one single huge rock. Shallow water marks are all over the body. This is the third highest peak of Tianzhu Mountain – Flying Peak. It is 1,424 meters above sea level. The whole peak is composed of one single huge rock. On the top, there is a stone about 3 zhang long, with a circumference of more than 30 zhang and a height of more than 1 zhang. It is round and like a cover pressing on the peak. It seems to have flown from the sky. The stone is called “Flying Stone”. The peak is named after the stone. The flying stone on the peak is like a magnificent crown worn neatly on the peak.

The forest is dense and the snow is thick. The scenery is spectacular. From mid-December to late February of the following year is the best skiing period here. It has a snow-playing area and skiing area of more than 50,000 square meters and can accommodate 3,000 skiing enthusiasts at the same time.

The Tianzhu Mountain Ski Resort has beautiful scenery. In the distance are the barriers of lofty mountains. Around are the natural melodies of bamboo forests and pine waves. The ski resort is equipped with beginner, intermediate, and advanced ski runs. There are also small practice lanes and children’s skiing areas. Whether you are a novice or an expert skier, you can have a happy experience this winter.

Skateboarding is a sport that requires extremely high skills and courage. Riders need to maintain stability and flexibility in speed, height, and balance and perform ever-changing skillful movements. It is highly challenging and ornamental.
The national-level roller skating (skateboarding) sports event – the 2023 China Roller Skating (Skateboarding) Open is held here. The competition lasts for two days and is divided into four groups: men’s bowl pool group, women’s bowl pool group, men’s street style group, and women’s street style group. Nearly 100 riders from 29 teams in 21 provinces participate.
