How to explore Hongya Cave?

Rail Transit: You can take Rail Transit Line 1 or Line 6 and get off at Xiaoshizi Station. Then get out from Exit 9 and walk down along the sidewalk beside the road to reach Hongyadong.

Bus: You can take buses such as No. 111, No. 112 Outer Ring, No. 114, No. 135, No. 151, No. 181, No. 262, No. 424, No. 466, No. 866, T001, T480 Urban Sightseeing Line A, T480 Urban Sightseeing Line B, etc., and get off at the Hongyadong Station.

Taxi/Online Car-hailing: Just tell the driver that the destination is “Hongyadong, Chongqing”. It’s convenient and fast, but it’s not recommended because there is usually heavy traffic.

Hongya Dripping Green: Located on the 1st floor of Hongyadong, it is one of the Twelve Scenes of Ancient Bayu. The waterfall pours down directly, water droplets splash everywhere, and water vapor rises. Under the sunlight, rainbows are often formed, contrasting beautifully with the surrounding scenery and being a feast for the eyes.

Hongya Hanque: At the entrance on the 1st floor of Hongyadong, there is a stone-carved “Hanque” of Hongyadong. It is modeled after the cultural relics unearthed in Wushan, the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. The original “Hanque” (with only two que) is now preserved in the Chongqing Three Gorges Museum and has a history of more than 2,000 years.

Stilted Buildings: The stilted building complex in Hongyadong has restored the appearance of the ancient capital of Bayu, concentratingly showing the mountainous residential buildings such as the most characteristic stilted buildings, ancient memorial archways, wooden hanging flowers, cantilever beams, carved building corridors, half-mountain markets and bluestone roads in ancient Chongqing. A 13-story stilted building complex has been built on the cliff, so it is called the “Cliff City of China” by the construction industry and the “City in the Sky” by Chinese and foreign media.

City Balcony: Located on the 11th floor of Hongyadong, it is an excellent place to enjoy the night view of Chongqing. Standing on the balcony, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Chongqing urban area, including the Yangtze River, the Jialing River and Jiefangbei.

Bayu Style Street: The Bayu Style Street of Hongyadong is located at the connection point between the core business district of Jiefangbei and Chaotianmen, adjacent to the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. It is a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area with Bayu cultural characteristics. It consists of the Zhiyanhe Fine Antique Street, Tiancheng Lane Hundred Trades Workshop Old Street, Hongyadong Folk Food Street and Hongyadong Exotic Food Street.

Dynamic Bar Street: Its main business forms are 风情酒吧 (bars with unique styles), urban entertainment and supper and dinner. This place has the atmosphere of dock culture and the resources of being close to the river, striving to become a sleepless city with the most leisure and entertainment value in Chongqing.

Feast Food Street: The antique inner street of Hongyadong, the original ecological cliff, the urban narrow strip of sky and the magnificent landscape of the confluence of the two rivers can all be seen here at a glance. Fine hot pot, foreign cuisine, business hotels, private Chongqing dishes, etc. have become the best choices for high-end business people in Chongqing and government officials to receive friends and host guests.

Exotic Style Street: It mainly deals in exotic handicrafts and leisure products. Such as South American crystals, handicrafts, Indian masks, Danish windmill decorations, Australian fabrics, Japanese and Korean dolls and other exotic goods, forming a unique and fashionable taste.

Reunion 1980: It is a themed scene block created by Hongyadong in 2020, with the theme of the urban life in Chongqing in the 1980s. The total construction area is about 3,100 square meters. It artistically presents the life scenes in the 1980s and the interactive experience area of that era. It also creates a holographic MR interactive music show of Teresa Teng in the Shancheng Cinema in the inner city area.

Jiang’ai Fort: There is a copper sculpture on the left city wall of Hongyadong Hotel on the 11th floor of Hongyadong. Since ancient times, this place has been a military fortress that is easy to defend but difficult to attack. The remains of its ancient fort are the “Jiangzhou Fort” guarded by the General of the State of Ba in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. It belonged to the anti-Jin fort in the Song Dynasty, and in the Qing Dynasty, it was the most important fort for defending the river.

Xinhai Monument: It was built in 1945 and is located on the side of Lin Cangbai Road on the 11th floor of the scenic area. It was built by the National Government for Zhang Peijue, the governor of the Shu Army Government during the Xinhai Revolution period (1911 – 1912) in Chongqing, and is as famous as the Zou Rong Monument.

City Main Sculpture – Memory of Mountain City: It is located on the city balcony on the 11th floor of the scenic area. The whole sculpture is 12.5 meters high and 7.5 meters wide, made entirely of copper, with gold platinum inlaid on the outline. Its shape is like the pictographic character “Shan”, representing the meaning of “Mountain City”. The sculpture elevates, exaggerates and deforms the traditional stilted buildings in Chongqing, strongly showing the Bayu culture and folk customs, and metaphorically expressing that “mountains are in the city and the city is in the mountains”.

Qiansimen Bridge: You can overlook the whole Hongyadong from the Qiansimen Bridge, which is an excellent position for taking panoramic photos.

Daijia Lane Cliff Walkway: This is a little-known hidden place, suitable for taking beautiful photos.

Inside Hongyadong: You can go down floor by floor to feel the history and culture of Hongyadong and savor every corner carefully.

Jialing River Bank: Coming to the Jialing River bank at night and enjoying the brilliant night view of Hongyadong up close is definitely not to be missed.

Chongqing Hot Pot: The most characteristic food in Chongqing. “Tu Huo Lao Huo Guo” is recommended. It offers more than 30 kinds of free desserts, allowing you to enjoy the meal to the fullest.

Jianghu Cuisine: The crayfish in Lao Gan Jia tastes delicious and is irresistible.
